Terms & Conditions: Cab Service Usage

Effective Date: Aug 24, 2026|  Version: 1.0

1. Purpose

As part of select Bridgeway Canada service packages, cab transportation may be arranged to help clients attend appointments (such as AHCIP registration, SIN application, banking setup, or other accompanied-assistance appointments) where transportation is a barrier. This document outlines the terms under which cab service is arranged, the costs involved, and the responsibilities of both Bridgeway Canada and the client.

2. When Cab Service Applies

Cab service is offered only where explicitly included in the client’s selected service package, and only when:

  • The accompanied appointment or task requires travel to a physical location, and
  • The client has indicated they require transportation assistance to attend.

Cab service is not automatic for every appointment; it is arranged on an as-needed basis at the client’s request or as agreed upon during service scheduling.

3. Booking Process

  • Cabs are booked by Bridgeway Canada through the Uber or Lyft rideshare application.
  • Bridgeway Canada will confirm the pickup location, destination, and estimated pickup time with the client in advance where possible.
  • Clients are responsible for being ready at the agreed pickup location at the confirmed time. Bridgeway Canada is not responsible for delays caused by the client not being ready.

4. Cost & Billing

Bridgeway Canada books and pays for the cab ride upfront through the Uber/Lyft application. The client is subsequently billed for the exact cost of the ride, at cost, with no markup or additional service fee applied by Bridgeway Canada.

  • The client will be charged the exact fare shown on the Uber/Lyft receipt for the trip, including any applicable taxes.
  • Any surge pricing, wait-time charges, or cancellation fees incurred (e.g., due to client no-show or late cancellation) will be passed on to the client at cost.
  • A copy of the ride receipt will be made available to the client upon request for transparency.
  • Payment for cab costs is due in accordance with the payment terms of the client’s service package (e.g., included in invoicing for the relevant session, or billed separately as agreed).

5. Cancellations & No-Shows

  • If a client needs to cancel a scheduled cab, they must notify Bridgeway Canada as early as possible before the scheduled pickup time.
  • If a cab has already been booked and the client cancels late or does not show up, any cancellation or no-show fee charged by Uber/Lyft will be passed on to the client.

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate pickup and destination information in advance.
  • Be present and ready at the agreed pickup location at the scheduled time.
  • Follow the driver’s vehicle policies (e.g., seatbelt use, number of passengers, conduct).
  • Notify Bridgeway Canada promptly of any changes or issues with a booked ride.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Cab transportation is provided by independent third-party drivers through the Uber and/or Lyft platforms. Bridgeway Canada does not own, operate, or control these vehicles or drivers.

  • Bridgeway Canada is not liable for the conduct of the driver, the condition of the vehicle, delays, accidents, injuries, property loss, or any other incident that occurs during the course of the ride.
  • Any complaints, disputes, or claims regarding the ride itself (e.g., driver conduct, safety, or service quality) should be directed to Uber or Lyft directly through their respective platforms.
  • Bridgeway Canada’s role is limited to booking and paying for the ride on the client’s behalf as a convenience and support service; it does not assume responsibility for the third-party transportation service provided.
  • Cab service is offered subject to driver availability through the Uber/Lyft platform at the time of booking and is not guaranteed.

8. Changes to These Terms

Bridgeway Canada may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most current version will be made available to clients upon request or at the time cab service is arranged.
